You would need a play-yan; an accessory only released in Japan and pretty tough to get a hold of. It adds mp3 music and mpeg 4 video abilities to your DS. Here is the listing at play asia:

Note it is out of stock (as it most often is), you could try e-bay. Bear in mind the size and resolution of the DS isn't ideal for video playback. You will also need a compatible SD card as storage.

to the best of my knowledge you cant watch movies on the nintendo ds, thats why the psp is so much better...if their is a way i havent heard of it.
