If the two types "grew up" together, do you think it would be okay? I have a gold gourami in a ten gallon right now and I'm moving him to a thirty gallon and I want some dwarf gouramis. My gold gourami has been living with my mollies and he's never been aggressive... can I put a dwarf gourami with my gold gourami?

DWARFS are aggressive? No, they aren't... they're completely peaceful... larger gouramis can be aggressive...

I don't have dwarfs yet, but i do have a smaller gourami [leopard] in with a much larger orange one and they get along fine as i can tell. I'm not a huge fish person, but going on 6 months together seems good to me! I have a pair of them, 3 tertras and a tiny catfish in a 10gallon.

The territory issue is the key. Gourammis are very territorial. They should be the last fish you put in the tank (if it's a community tank). Different types of gourammis are ok together provided (as said above) they are all put in the new environment "together" or "at the same time". This prevents the territorial sparring.

Yes. All dwarf gouramis are the same species but different colour morphs. So as long as you have enough room in your tank you should be fine.

about 90% of the time they will do fine I wouldn't worry about it- I have had dwarfs and golds together w/ no problems- but keep an eye out just incase- you can always have an exception

yes they can i would get them before you move them to a larger tank and put them in the new tank at the same time so there is no established territory
