I’m looking to buy some tickets as a present for a big cricket fan. As a non-cricket fan myself, I need some advice as to which Lords match would be worth seeing. Any suggestions?

Buy tickets for the Oval. Lords is not worth going to - at its best, its cricket on a slope.

The most sought-after tickets will be for the the two Test matches being played at Lords next year. England play West Indies on 17th - 21st May, and India on 19th -23rd July. Tickets for the Saturday of each match are the the most prized.

Apart from those matches, there is also a one day international game: England V India on 8th September, which is bound to be popular.

Avoid buying tickets for any Middlesex matches...they are currently a poor side and dont play in the highest domestic league.

As a good alternative, you could consider buying tickets for matches at the Oval
