Hun, you can use Sudafed, Claritin, and Saline Nasal Sprays. Those were all approved by my doctor for both of my pregnancies, and I'm still pregnant with my second, but my first is completely healthy.
I hope that you're pregnant! Let us know if you are! :)

As a pediatrician- the safest decongestant would be a neosynephrine nasal spray such as "Afrin". Antihistamines and oral decongestantants may affect the fetus. If your cold goes on for too long you may want to ask your MD for an antibiotic- good luck with your pregnancy.

That's a question for your doctor, but decongestants, antihistamines, and nasal sprays are all pretty bad, in general.
The rule of thumb is that you should avoid all medications during your first trimester of pregnancy, while the baby's organs are forming.
How about trying a vapor steamer? That's about all I'd be willing to try, at such a fragile stage.
Congrats, I hope!

I used garlic (in a tea form) or garlic oil capsules with great results and no side effects. I hope the Lord grants you both the desire of your hearts!

I was told by my OBGYN that the only meds I could take, if I really needed them were: Tylenol, Tums and plain sudafed. That's it.
BUT call your doctor and ASK them first.
