Depends how often you get the chance to have a shag on the living room floor. Maybe you should grab the opportunity with open legs...I mean arms...Don't go moaning about this opportunity, will you? ;-)

Carpet is cosy. laminate flooring echoes when walked upon and can be damaged by hard shoes or the feet of furniture. Its quite expensive. Looks cheap when compared to polished bare floorboard flooring. Bareboard flooring looks good I must admit. If you don't have this, get carpet instead.

I would chose laminated flooring and then get a large shag pile rug. this would mean you both get what you want. good luck. x

Depends, we have laminated flooring, but it's useless if you want a shag on it, so consider all things you do on the floor before you decide!
It is cleaner tho'

Laminate with a rug

Get regular-cut carpet. Laminate is a you-know-what to clean, and collects dust and hair like crazy. Plus, if you ding it, you can't fix it.

I thought you were going to say "shag...haircut" and was all read to tell you NOOOOO!!! Don't do it!
