a window client in general is a PC which is connected to a windows PC acting as a server via Network

since you said you downloaded software it depends on what the software does
a windows client software is a software interacting with a specific counterpart on another windows PC using specific services
what it exactly does depends on what kind of client software that is, there should be an exact description.
otherwise using it just for curiosity reasons contains the risk of weakening your computers security

usually client means: accessing something somewhere else
server means offering something to some other machine

A windows client is a program which must be installed on your MS Windows desktop computer. Usually this kind of programs allows you to work with web based software installed on a remote server by means of internet connection. Why did you downloaded for if you don't know what will help you to do? Anyway, at least specify the name of the program in order to get help from other people
