Help me understand why it is that when an African-American, or a Mexican American kill a Caucasion that it is simply a murder, yet let the Caucasion kill either of the above mentioned and it is an act of RACISM?????

media driven political correctness." Oh we must not offend the black man". yeah like making something a hate crime makes it worse than murder. I'm sorry I can't help you understand, I can only agree with you.

It's not necessarily an act of racism. Only if the motivation to kill someone includes the fact that the victim is different than the killer. In fact, the opposite can also be an act of racism.

Sadly, press uses to use topics without thinking about the consequences of using inappropriate expressions systematically. So that some people forget that a murder is murder and racism is racism, no matter the ethnic history of the murderer or the racist.

Everybody seemed to take this question the WRONG way. A black man gets shot and next thing you know Rev. Jessie Jackson is all over the news fueling the fire crying racism, Or, another example, it was perfectly OK for Ray Nagin to call New Orleans a "chocolate town" If a white mayor called their town a "white chocolate town" It would be considered a racist comment. Also, recently America had a "no immigrant day." In the place I work we have a variety of ethnic backgrounds. Everybody showed up EXCEPT the Mexicans. Hmmm. Seems to me like the only ones racist here are minorities.

what the hell are you talking about, murder is murder. Now if the "Caucasian" is wearing a white hood or happens to have a swastika tattooed on his chest, it might be considered racism. You pay too much attention to the media. People murder each other everyday, whites, blacks, browns everyone. Some do it in self-defense, to steal, for revenge, for love or for whatever reason, and yes sometimes because of race.

You don't know what you're talking about. If racial hatred is the MOTIVATION for a murder, then the killer is guilty of a hate crime regardless of his or her race. Blacks who kill whites can and have been charged with hate crimes when it has been shown that racial hatred was a motivating factor. Same when whites kill blacks. But if someone kills someone of a different race to rob them or just out of anger, but it isn't racially motivated, then it's just murder.

You might disagree with the very idea of hate crimes, as many people do, but don't pretend that whites are the only people in our society who are ever accused of racism.

It is more fodder for the Media. I have never got the feeling that racism was a factor unless it was a true hate crime. As long as whites are in majority, just about any act towards a minority will be seen in a racism light.

It is? I guess my being who I am, skews my perception. But, historically many of the white on Black/Brown murders have been racially motivated. Murder is murder. In know that crime in general is racially depicted irregardless of the actual statistics on crime, who commits them and who is victim.

I think the solution falls on us seeing one another as HUMANS and not simply as colors. Racism is a mind thing that is perpetuated in to realistic acts. It is defined as Race Prejudice plus the backing of the institutions of power. Everything is white owned and white controlled, Media, Criminal Justice and Politics. Are you accusing whites of practicing Self imposed racism?

Actually, the chances of a white man getting off clean are very likely.

The minority could simply be in the area, matching the description and he takes the fall ( you know, jail time, death sentence)for the person who actually did the crime.

It's called racial profiling.

To my knowledge, white people are not victims of racial profiling.

Not sure but sad isn't it? No matter how you look at it...murder is murder. No matter of background. Man I hate racism.

To me murder is murder whoever the victim is. I abhor racists and will fight it any time as long as you do not belong to a religion that starts with M and have a prophet whose name also starts with M and I do not mean Moses
