The Red Wings have never really been a team about one or two superstars in the last 3 or 4 years. Looking at this year, last I checked Lidstrom is leading in points with 16. They don't have a big scorer ala Cheechoo, Kovalchuk, Ovechkin, etc. Shanahan was their top scorer but he is gone. I would hate to see them trade away their young talent for a veteran quick fix but it's possible I suppose. Forsberg is more of a playmaker in my eyes. Alfredsson has been underachieving in Ottawa, maybe he's available? To me, I say trade Lang, he just hasn't done much in my eyes. That or let Hudler and Kopecky have a shot on the top lines, at least they finally are on the roster.

JZ_Maltby is a big part of the team. You don't remember when they won the Cup in 2002 and they were shorthanded in a game, Maltby's stick broke, he stayed on the ice and played defensely brilliantly. I can't remember how many shots he blocked during that short handed time.
They need to trade Hasek. MacDonald got shelled last night for 4 or 5 goals in the 2nd period alone and they did not pull him because Dum Dum could not come off the bench cold and play because of his precious groin. If the number 1 goalie can not play most games GET RID OF HIM!!!!!! He doesn't play back to back games, he doesn't play when they have traveled. What good is he? They should get rid of Hasek and send MacDonald back to the minors and call Jimmy Howard back up.. MacDonald has played 5 games and lost all 5. He is not ready for the big league.

Maltby. He has been the only "minus" player the last two years. The penalty killing has become dreadful too and he is a big part of it. Not that they would get much for him.
