I have to relocate to Central America, Guatemala, I am 36 years old and due to the average salary level that is very low I may have to start my own business. My background is Economy at the university, then I have been working in various import/export and trading companies, currently trader for a U.S. company based in Europe. Any idea or advice is welcome, I have about 18 months to prepare my move

Answer seems obvious, you should find something to export from Guata. Take advantage of the cheap labor and maybe even try to set something up w/ your current employer. I know some people that used to sell those bright, patterned Guata. clothes, bags, wallets etc. They would get pieces for very cheap and sell them to boutiques and trading post type stores. Many of the pieces would retail for three figures at upscale stores.
