it is like the 2nd or3rd boss in the game it is a flower! I keep hitting all the vines making it fall to the ground and opens up revealing a little thing in the middle that you can hit with your boomerang. I keep doing this over and over am i doing it right?

I know the boss you mean. It's the boss you need to defeat to save Makar.
The first step is to sever all the vines attaching it to the roof. Your Boomerang is used for this job. Lock on to multiple targets without using L-targetting and it will be much easier. It is possible to sever all of the vines in one throw by using the angles right, butI've never done it.
Once the vines have been cut, the flower will fall and open up, revealling a weak spot. Run to it and slash at it with yout sword. You only have time for one combo though. As soon as you've done your 4 hit combo RUN. If you don't the closing petals will trap you and cause considerable damage. Remove any lock on and rolling will make this escape easier. Now all you have to do is repeat the tactic until it's defeated.

I have beaten the game and i think that you hit the little thing with the sword
