Wow, I am truly impressed to your observation! You are right. now, I have not read all too much about the planet Mars, but according to your question [115 million years old down to a region that is only 2 million years old. and [eruptions of Olympus Mons were like, um, 2 million years ago.] I just put it together for you. 2 million years ago may have been the last and final eruption if the core is solidified and there is no more paleomagnetism. I commend your observation. Unfortunately, there is a lot of junk science out there, I will not believe anything regarding outer space until we have actual geologists up there testing the planet themselves.
