This is a question that you need to talk to your Dr. about. If you get the wrong advice and take something that you shouldn't it could hurt your baby. If you cannot get in touch with your Dr. you can go to your Pharmacy and talk to the Pharmacist and he can tell you what will be safe to take during pregnancy. I am not sure if you know this or not but you shouldn't even take cough drops. There is something in them that you cannot take while pregnant.

ask your doc about coricidin HBP. my roommate has kidney failure along with Extremely high blood pressure and he can take that. But, i do not know if pregnant women can take it. When i had the flu last year, i took it. just to note, i miscarried (i didn't know i was pregnant), but that was probably due to the high fever that i had for a long time before anybody found me ( i was delirious) tylenol is okay to take to get your fever down, and your best bet is to stay up on that and drink an eight ounce serving of orange juice every few hours, and still get plenty of regular water and rest. Your doc may not want to induce you unless you take a dramatic turn for the worst, simply because of the flu, but then, i doubt they would stop your labor if you went into labor naturally, so you would really have to discuss this with your doc. every pregnancy and labor is different, so no one here would really be able to help you unless they had access to your medical records and were an OBGYN or CNM.

They should still induce you. Especially if you have fever, if you get fever it could effect your baby. Plus the high blood pressure is still an issue and its safer to get your baby out.
Not sure what medicine you can take to get rid of it, if its truly the flu all you can do is treat the symptoms and wait for it to go away.

i'm a midwife in Southampton and we recommend all pregnant women to get the swine flu jab once they could. once you're pregnant your immune gadget is weaker so that you're extra in all probability to seize infections. Swine flu also includes negative aspects of complications which includes pneumonia which may be severe to both you and your toddler. there is an advance of persons being contaminated, so inspite of the actuality that in case you artwork in a "secure" surroundings which includes an workplace, your co-workers will be bringing it in with them. also evaluate you'd be going to fairly some midwife/health midsection appointments in the time of your being pregnant the position there might want to correctly be those who're no longer properly contained in the waiting parts. you could by no ability be 100% sensible about the risks of any drugs you're taking, although the present concepts are it really is secure in being pregnant. wish that has been some help!

Please call your Doctor's office. Don't take anything expect what your Doctor tells you to take especially if you have high blood pressure, most cold and flu medicine isn't safe for people with high blood pressure.
