Because all great nations have a history. We are among the youngest of nations and slowly becoming a culture and ethnicity separate from the world; involving all of the world.

Since many wars and famines and persecutions have caused so much immigration to this land and deny their mother country, the younger generations know little if anything about their heritage and roots beyond their own parents. A sense of belonging and 'roots' is an essential key to a nation's strength. Monuments and history and honor also fit in to that strength equation.

Why do you think that the al-quaida terrorist organization sought to remove our national monuments and history?

We should preserve them, because they are a symbolism of our culture, our country, whether it's from war, or from our history. Most natural movements are at state parks or historic sites. I don't have an article or a website to share.
