currently many different schools in different areas teach different theories, should there be an overall rule about what is taught?

All. It should me made clear that these are just "theories". Students must be encouraged to think critically and make up their own minds.

There are national standards that states must use to design their course of study (and then teachers have to follow it).

I think ALL reasonable theories should be included in a class discussion. You can't completely discount the beliefs of others, but we CAN discuss what we can physically observe.

Realistically, and based on fact over feeling, it should be general that only evolution is taught in science. However, religious beliefs should also be explored in Religious Studies classes, where they are taught.

Would we disagree that science should be taught in schools ? I don't think so. Which means evolution should be taught.

Nothing should be taught until college, when kids can make up their own minds without being influenced by their parents.

Evolution. Anything else is a fairy story for the gullible.

Except the Flying Spaghetti Monster, of course.
