I just found small white spots around the fins of my neon tetras, now looking "salty." I purchased Tetra Medica Contra White Spot Treatment. However, the bottle label didn't specify any instructions on how to use the medication. So...
1. How do I use it? How often in a day and how many times in a week?
2. Can I apply it to a community tank with other fish not affected (or seemingly not affected) with white spot disease? Is it safe for other fish?
3. Can I still use the corner filter while applying the medication?
4. Do I still feed my fish with flakes? Do I feed before or after medication?

The best cure for ick is heat. Slowly raise the temperature of your aquarium to 86 degrees over the coarse of a day and within a week all the ick will be gone. Leave the temp this high until 1 week after seeing all signs disappear.

A temperature slightly lower will only speed up the life cycle and not kill it. You have to maintain the temp at 86 degrees or slightly higher. This will not hurt the fish or the plants. No need for medications or salt.

you have Ick its easly cureable
add some salt to your tank (its good for their health too)
you can find it at your local fish store prolly have to go to an off the wall store i dont know if its in petco and such.
turn up the heat little by little this will slow and eventualy stop the disease from spreading and evetualy kill it

the medication works but costly and does the same thing as explained above
