Are aliens real?

Question

Some one asked a question about aliens and this guy on yahoo answers said aliens were real. So I checked out his profile and he was not obsessed with aliens and his question/answers seemed level headed. That gave me pause to wonder, so I asked this question. I am inclined to think not, but I try to keep an open mind.

The word "alien" can mean different things.

If by "alien" you mean "non-naturalized" citizen then the answer is yes.

If by "alien" you mean "non-terrestrial" being then it just seems to be an awful waste of space if Earth human beings are the only self-aware creatures in the Universe.

It depends on how you look at it. Ok, if by alien you mean life in the universe besides here on Earth, then yes. If you mean little green guys flying around in spaceships, probably not.
It has already been proven that there are other living organisms on different planets in our solar system. Probably not the "life" some are looking for but life nonetheless. Microscopic single-cell organisms that reproduce seems to be how life on earth started and is the most basic primitive form of what we call life. Look at volcanoes. Obviously we couldn't live there, but there is life in the form of the organisms living there.
Scientists have even found similar organisms on passing by meteor and comet debris.
The more we study and research our universe, the more we will learn from this new information. With the discovery of new solar systems and as we watch them develop and grow along with us the closer we get to discovering what other forms of life exist and where. Our technology is growing by leaps and bounds and the new discoveries this brings all it takes is an open mind.

They are real. We learned only 10 % of our brain or even less. The brain takes a small space in our head. Think now of the universe how big it is comparing to our brains? There are millions of other people living all over the universe, different creatures. There are a lot worlds around us too.
People do not die.... there bodies do.... but their spirits never borne and never die
Take poltergeist... it is real it can put an alarm clock into the Pepsi metal can How it happens? We know too Little about it But all these things are real. Not to believe in aliens would be same as Aborigines in Australia thought they were alone on the earth

The aliens do not come to earth from somewhere ,,,, they are here and live around us in the other worlds around us. Why we see them sometimes because they let us know that we are not alone on our planet ,....that there are other worlds around us .... Aili ens were showing themselves on the earth from the old times but did it differently as they do it now....

Our civilization on the earth is not the only one ...there were hundreds of civilizations on the planet ...all of them died....people were different than we are now .....

yes , aliens are real, you normally get them running the boders from mexico.they are normally called illegal aliens.you may have met them at your local corner store.

i am a firm believer in sci-fi. there is life on other planets and there are other worlds, maybe not in our galaxy, but somewhere in the universe.................but they definitely are there.
