I seriously doubt it's ich, seeing as Mr. Betta hasn't been in water (the parasite only survives in water), and also because ich doesn't look like fuzz... it looks like little granules of salt. Please DO NOT treat him for something he doesn't have. This will only cause more stress for your fish.
The fuzz you're seeing could be the dried out layers of skin coming off, or it could be fuzz from the floor that stuck to him coming off.
Treat his water with melafix. Melafix is basically tea tree oil that soothes and aids healing. It's not a medication. Also add a little bit of aquarium salt (NOT table salt, for the love of all that is holy). 1/2 teaspoon per gallon. You can get a 16oz carton of it from Petsmart for less than $2 (hardly expensive). The aquarium salt also acts as a 'soother', and is a preventative measure against parasites and fungi (I always treat my water with aquarium salt).
Do not change his water or move his tank or do anything stress-inducing for the next few days. If his tank has a light, turn it off. Cover the tank with a sheet because the darkness will help calm him.
I'm very sorry that you had to experience a jumping betta. The truth is that bettas are very avid jumpers. In the wild, they jump from pocket to pocket of water (also, the 'pockets' can be 3 or 4 feet deep), which is why it's necessary to provide them with a lot of space. Either buy a new tank with a built in cover, or find a way to cover the tank you have now. Just remember to leave some kind of way for air to get in so your betta doesn't suffocate.

Wow! thats a disgrace an incredible tank like that doesnt have a lid. Betta are large jumpers and merely reason the tank isn't small does no longer mean the betta wont bounce out and land on the floor. I even have had my betta bounce out of a 10 gallon without lid so dont permit human beings fool you into thinking such nonsense of the betta no longer jumpin out reason its 2 gallons which continues to be a small tank. you're able to take a plastic shoe field lid, decrease it to length, poke holes in it and that would do it. The tank is gorgeous yet nonetheless desire a lid.

She may have ick, as mentioned above. Also, she could be shedding scales due to shock. At pet stores, they sell beta tanks with lids on top. My beta has one, and she's never jumped out. Don't do any major water changes for a while, maybe two/three days. Let her get over the stress. Also, let her have some time on her own, to let her relax. There are treatments for ick. Look at the website in my 'sources' to find out what to do. Good luck with her!

My Betta fish did that too once. Not to worry, the skin should shed. As of for now put a lid on the tank and maybe bring her to a near by petstore just to make sure she's okay!

if the poor fish is still alive .. then the fish has what they call ick ... depending on how big their tank is u can use non iodized table salt or sea salt(do not use the one that says free running iodized table salt ) just sprinkle about a table spoon in for every 10 gallons... if it's smaller then just add 1/4 of a tea spoon at a time once a week .. fish can survive with a little salt in their water and it acts like a healing agent for them we put alittle salt in our tanks every water change and it keeps the ick away and any parasite's that might get in the tanks...or u can go and buy stuff for ick at ur local pet store but the other way is much cheaper ...
good luck and get her healthily ....she will not survive with out treatment..
oh ya some info 4 ya... if a Betta has large fins and very colourfully then u have a male ... if it has short fins and not as colourfully then u have a female and females are very social fish and belong in a community tank till breeding time.. where males are not but also can survive in a community tank but males tend to Chase other fish that has more colours or bigger fins then him... u can have many females in one tank but males u can only have one.. they will fight each other till one is dead...
And fish do not shed they are not reptiles.....

Ok, well first, please put a lid on the tank.
second, it's not ich. If the fish was dried then it's just old scales/'skin' coming off. It should shed within a few days.
But to be sure it isn't a fungal infection. There's med. called Maroxy by Mardel. add it to the tank to help fight the infection.
