A very good question. It is humanities ignorance of what love is. The essence of our being is Unconditional love,however most people do not realize that when this unconditional love passes through the mental concepts of duality & emotions it divides into conditional love /hate. As sunlight passes through water crystals divides into the colors of the rainbow. One should strive to enter the heart & experience unity with God in unconditional love.

Love has little to do with lust, desire or any externality.
A wish for another's happiness is love - how simple! How easy!

lust brings us closer to a person, then we can learn to love or hate that person .love is apart from lust. as love gives itself ,lust takes for its self.

Human love and Divine Love are totally opposite to each other.
Human love is 'Selfish' and Divine Love is 'Selflessness'.
