Okay so im shopping at american eagle and want to get a hoodie for my mom. She wears a 3x and american eagle goes up too xxl....the hoodie i want to get her is 60% Cotton 40% Polyester Fleece
......will this stretch so it could fit her right? the xxl is a size 18 and she wears a size 22....what material should i get that i can stretch out?

This will stretch temporarily, but not enough that a 22 woman would be able to wear it comfortably or fashionably. Each time it is washed, it will shrink approx 1/4" on each seam from the size it was before you stretched it. Better off getting her something else, or at least in the right size.
Sorry kiddo, but you sure have a lucky mom to be going to all this trouble for her!

Make sure the material you get has some spandex or lycra in it. If your mom wears a 3x, the xxl hoodie will not fit her. AE runs a bit small too.. esp in the "plus size" range. XXL is not a plus size but a misses size. If your mom wears a plus size anything that says xxl is usually not equal to a 2x but more a 1x... if that. Try LaneBryant.com or OldNavy.com - they both have nice plus sized clothes. Old Navy is a little more reasonable. Old Navy has a 3x, but in Lane Bryant they are all sizes, so you might want to check to see what she wears..or just go for a 22/24... which is approx a 3x.

U need to go somewhere else to get a hoodie. If your mom wears a 3x and there is only xxl it wont fit because when it is washed it will shrink because it is 60% cotton. Cotton shrinks!! Maybe trying a bigger size with less cotton should do the trick. And when it is washed use cold water and let it air dry.
