Dear Angry-Evil,
You are angry, and hopefully, not evil. You expressed well why you are angry. You can be thankful and it would do your heart good to express your thankfullness that you are able-bodied and have the privilege of being a hard-working tax payer. We should all commend people like you who pull more than their fair-share of the load. Thank you. You are an example to follow.
I would like to see you ask the question now, what is the solution? We can't depend on the government to change this problem. It needs to start at the grass roots. It has started with you. I personally feel that if we ourselves would volunteer and join a faith-based group or any group that has a heart to make a difference, put forth our hand to help whoever is around us, our social problems would change.
Those who deserve our support are our the pensioners. They are not the parasites. They are the wisdom and foundation of all that we have that is good and honorable. Yesterday, I took an 80-year old "shining star" to buy a puppy, then to visit her daughter to show off the puppy, then to the Petsmart to buy food and a bed, then to the grocery store. Approximately 5 hours out of my week. She was so thankful and I was blessed more than I can say. Both our worlds were a little better than they were before.
Those who deserve more than our support and more than we can ever give, are our veterans who have laid down their lives for the cause of freedom everywhere. They are not parasites in any way, shape or form. Their bodies and dreams are broken and I would like to take the opportunity to say here and now, Thank You. Thank you for serving! You are our heroes.
We knew a young veteran w;ho returned from Iraq to find his employer would not give back his job. While he was working through the red tape, he was hungry. He looked for another job and literally had the person interviewing, snear for his having served in an "It Was a Lie" war. It was dispicable. He was without work with a new bride and I wondered, why won't the "government" do something? How has he fallen through the cracks? Then I realized, we can not wait for others to pick up the slack, if we see someone suffering and in need we must gather the "troops" and take care of that person, and we did. Eventually the govenment kicked in.
The handicap need our help. I didn't "see" the handicap until my husband became handicapped and then I realized how "self-absorbed" and without time to assist the handicap I had been. If you haven't been there, the ignorance of need is profound. Even my church community cannot see the need for handicap doors. Why? Because of ignorance. Am I angry? No! But I must endeavor to educate on the needs of the handicap. It wasn't too long ago that I may have responded the same.
I could say more, but probably by now, I'm talking to myself or the preacher preaching to the choir. I hope you find resolution to your anger. I think if you will add more to the solution and solicit those arround you to join in, your anger may slowly dissolve. You will see the fruit of your sowing and it will not be evil. It will be good.
I hope your life will be happier and you will have a more peaceful heart.
Thank you for bringing up this problem that encompases us all.

I think some people missed the point of this question. I don't get the impression that it aimed at war veterans or single mothers who want to work or people out of work looking for a job, or even students. I think it's aimed at people who simply just don't work because they don't want to. I know a girl who is too lazy to go and sign on for job seekers allowance so she rings each month, tells them she is ill and they send the forms through the post. they threatened to stop the benefits because she wouldn't get a job but nothing ever came of it and it infuriates me that she appears to be better off than i am when i work long hours and pay all of my bills. I couldn't agree more where people like her are concerned, she provides absolutely no contribution to anyone, not even her own household never mind society. Yet pensioners freeze to death each year because they cant afford the fuel bill. It's a crime and i agree that it's about time the government looked at their policies!

I just have to say maybe some people that are getting money from the government are like that but not all. There are so many people that make these judgements about people who get assistance from the government. I personally get assistance from the government for mental problems. I could work if it was forced on me I guess but it isn't as easy for me as it is for regular old tom and jane. I haven't left my house in over a yr except to go to the doctor and I would give my left arm to be able to live like you do. I just want to remind all of you that you don't know everyones situation and shouldn't put everyone in a particular category.

Got a question. Who is a deserving pensioner drawing benefits? Is it the Veteran who draws a V.A service connected pension for injuries during military service?
Is it the person who worked all their life, got cancer and cannot work anymore?
I do have a problem with 2nd, 3rd, 4th + generations drawing welfare benefits. I know some who have 8 kids and brag the more kids they have, the more money they get.
As for me. I draw a V.A. service connected disability pension. Losing my hearing due to gunfire, got left leg and hip busted up. All this while in for 8 years, in the line of duty. Am I a hero, deserving or a drain on the taxpayer?

Some of you have absolutely no manners! Do you thonk living on benefits is an enjoyable situation? Some ppl on benefits actually want a job but it costs lots of money to look for work and attened interviews AND run a household on the pitance the government gives you to "live off" and what an insult it is after having worked.
And what exactly is a "low lif area" please? We all would like to know. How dare you be posting stuff like this all over the net to insult peoplewhen you do not know their circumstance but just because they sign on you think you have the right to generalize. And why should they not wear designer clothing? If they manage to afford it why not? Everyone needs their luxuries just because you dont choose to buy them, its none of ur business.
Yes off course there are the few who do just sit on benefits and choose to not want to work but not everyone.
And if no one was signing on I doubt the pensioners would get that much more the government would just allocate the money someplace else on some meaninglessness so stop blaming other people.
And your tax money is not minding someone on benefits it pays to fix up roads, schools or whatever the gov't decides so stop feeling so high and mighty and self righteous you punk.
And as for those who have worked b4 and are currently on benefits ultimately they paid for themselves, don't you think then? So shut the fuk up.Miser, get a life.
To It Girl, thats exactly what Im trying to say.

My goodness you sound very angry. Our older people should be taken care of. Respected and minded and enjoyed as they have the old stories and our history. I am a person who finds no fault with anyone or though I have been known to rant and rave about all segments of our society. When I stand back and look out at the people in my supposedly disadvantaged area then I can see the creme de la creme,I also see the same in very well advantaged areas. We are all just people trying to survive as best we can. I hope you have a great day today and somebody is kind to you. I am not being sarcastic, I really hope you are okay.

one must also reflect on the fact that the amount of taxpayer dollars spent on social services, medical services, transportation services, mental health services, housing services, police services, prison services all make their living of these individuals.if you want to do something about it why don't you drug test those on the government dole just after the first of the month.and when you get old ,just remember, that the foreign national running your care home makes $2,500 for each of our lame, nameless out of work professionals.and remember also that the tax they pay will justify helping the next helpless person on the dole.maby your own kids child.

There are some who make a living of idling, but there are some who are living in low areas while going to uni, and working, and trying to get ahead.
I know some of these people because I am in grad school. I do not look down upon them because they do not have as much as I do, but I also am sure you and lots of others are not angry at those people who are trying to do better.

WELL SAID! And I'm not even gonna get started on this one as I'd probably go on forever so I'll just say that the reason they can't disappear up their own ar** is because the idle, scrounging scum of the earth spend the entire day sitting on on them.
