I'm a masters student in London and I am always looking for nice places and cafés to study in. The library is okay but closes early on weekends. I've found a few cafés in london that don't mind me lingering with my laptop and books for hours? Can anyone recommend a good study place in cenral london that is not starbucks or caffe nero (I've already heard of those.)

Thanks for the tips! South Bank is great, but school is just North of the River and I live in North London, so places around there would be helpful too.

I do that at Motzart cafe just by hampstead heath, where I live...
In fact, that whole area is full of places like that and you can easily study there for hours. (hampstead, golder green, belsize park, primrose hill...)

There is quite a nice coffee shop on Bethnal Green Road opposite the north end of Brick Lane. They have laptops dotted around which you can use to go on the net for nothing.

The National Theatre and the Festival Hall on the south bank.

You could go there for hours. And they sell coffee etc.
