No, some are born rich and just hire people who are smart to do the work for them.

Depends on the meaning of smart. The founder of Wendys never graduated high school, neither did Albert Einstien. I think most are well informed and talented on the subject that made them rich, whether a lawyer, doctor or own their own company.
Then some is just plain luck.

there is no prerequisite for being rich in terms of smartness, all u need is the money, the way they get the money is usually the determine factor of smartness, etc for instance Bill Gates=smart, Paris Hilton = lucky to be air to Hilton hotels, etc

Some people do come from nowhere and become rich but the greatest atribute for attaining wealth is to be born to wealthy parents.
