No country is completely tolerant, but the British make a conscious effort to be so, it is part of their heritage. Just try to bait them with some fool question here on YA and you will hardly get a peep out of them. I know, I've tried!

As an outsider looking in (from USA), my general impression is that England is tolerant as a whole.

Sorry to say this ..but yes we are to tolerant .... some would say "Soft".... We have lost our will to sort our country out .... We are now a nation of ASBO Kids and cheep cider... and no guts for a fight... The Days of the "English man's castle " has gone forever...nuff said.

A tad too tolerant, if you ask me.

Look at what the Pakistanis have done to their Country.

That should be a lesson for us and all other non-Islamic Countries.

yes and no...there are people and people...it's true that many of them have already preconceived opinions and mainly they keep that opinions to themselves...but there are also tolerant people like there are everywhere in this world

english people are brought up to keep their thoughts to themselves... they may appear to be tolerant, and they are, compared to many, but no more than most
