i am 36 weeks pregnant and i've been having painless contractions (possibly braxton hicks) for about an hour and a half, i've had dull back pain all day, but i usually do. is it possible i could be in labour with no pain? im booked in for a c-section so when do i go to the hospital? im going to call the hospital anyway but im just interested in what others might think. thanks.

its been 24 hours and this is still going on, the only thing that has changed is that when i stand after sitting my hips and legs ache. the hospital last night said that the contractions were regular but not strong enough for the real thing.... if im not in some stage of labour wouldnt the contraction have stopped by now??? im so confused.

I would call your docor asap if you are scheduled for a c-section. The only way to know is if you go to hospital and get put on the monitor.

The contractions can continue for a while with out being in active labor. Sorry to say this, but you can contract for a few days before "real labor" starts. By the way, why are you scheduled for a c-section and why are they letting you contract this much?

Yes it is, I always just had a funny feeling, like a tingle and never any real pain because I would get the epi as soon as they would let me have it...about 3-4 cm an still no pain. If they are close together or getting close together I would go to hospital to get checked. Good luck hun and congratulations!

speaking from experience id say you are in labour as you need to go no2 and when you push its hurts alot to do so .. so i say either ring or go to the hospital
