No it isnt rare it is the second most common, it is also distinguished by the fact that anyone can receive blood from an O- donor. It is called the Universal Donor for that reason.

I am that blood group, when I was pregnant I was given a card informing me it was a blood group not often met with. I asked my doctor about it and was told that I could donate blood to ANYONE but "could only recieve my own type. we are known as the "Universal Blood Group"also women who have the Negative blood after childbirth has to have a special injection to protect future babies who may have a Positive blood group.

Yes Its rare but you cant say its rare now becoz O-ve is becoming common,lots of my frnds blood group is O negative

yes it is rare . moreover it is a universal donor and it can recieve blood only from the person who has the same blood group. therefore they must be careful.
