volume of cyllinder = area of circle times height

= Pi x radius x radius x height

remember its just the same as finding the volume of any prism.
find the area of the shape of the end then multiply by its length!!

First of all, you need to find the area of the circle at the end of the cylinder.
The formula for the area of a circle is 3.14159r^2 (pi.r^2)
Now, you know the diameter is 7. The radius is half the diameter.
Radius = 7/2 = 3.5
So Area of Circle = 3.14159*3.5^2
= 38.48cm^2
Now to find the volume of cylinder
You times the area of the circle by the height of the cylinder
Volume of cylinder = 38.48x7
= 269.39cm^3

It has been a long time, but I seem to recall that the area of a circle is 2PyeR, so the volume of a cylinder would be 2PyeR x the height
2 X 3,14159 x 3.5 x 9
You do the maths
Assay is right. 2PyeR is the circumference! I said it was a long time!
It is PyeR squared times the height.
Anyway, you do the maths

Well you do pi x radius x radius to find the area of the circle. So this is pi x 3.5 x 3.5 which gives you the area of the circle. Then multiply the answer by 9 because this is the height. Hope it helps.

I think it must be the area of the circle times the height.

The area will be Pi times 7cm or about 22cm2. So the volume must be 22 x 9 or 198

volume of cylinder
V=(pi*d^2/4)*h

where h= height and d=diameter

V=pi*49/4*9
=441*pi/4=346.3605901 cc

therefore, volume of cylinder
=346.3605901 cc

i hope that this helps

1. Surface Area = 2*pi*r*h+pi*r^2 = 189*pi Volume = pi*r^2*h=490*pi 2. Surface Area = 2*pi*r*h+pi*r^2 = 275*pi Volume = pi*r^2*h=625*pi

Volume of Cylinder = pi x r x r x h
pi = 3.14
r = radius (half of the diameter)
h = height

Vol = 3.14 x 3.5cm x 3.5cm x 9cm
Vol = 346.36 cm3 (to 2 d.p. (decimal places))
PS as you multiplying cm (linear centimetres) by cm by cm then it comes centimetres cubed (cm3).

radius=diameter/2
=>radius=7/2
volume of cylinder=pi*(radius^2)*(height)
=(22/7)*(radius^2)*(height)
=>volume =(22/7)*(7/2)*(7/2)*9
=346.5

Cylindrical volume = Pi x r x r x h
= 3.142 x 3.5 x 3.5 x 9
= 346.4055 cc
