What helped you?

Was there anything that someone said or did that helped you come out of your situation?

Thank you for your information.

But my question isn't that I am. I am wondering in order to GIVE advice to others. I want to know from people who have been there, what did someone say that actually struck a chord.

I can say 50 million words that are useless but if there is something that "clicks" for someone in this situation I'd love to be able to offer that up to someone in need.

A good counselor who listened to what was causing me so much pain. Began to help me re-evaluate what I was doing in response, to see that other options were available,
To give me hope and reassure me that I was not hopeless or hopelessly wierd, but that my reactions were extremely human and extremely common to my situation.
Also, being a minister, he would always pray out loud for me, & those prayers would amaze me. They were the way we ended our sessions, and I would often marvel at what he thought of to petition God on my behalf.
The biggest message in all your answers seems to be not to try to go it alone- wise advice & very true.
Do the hard work & don't give up on yourself, you are worth it, and no one else here on earth can fill your shoes just like you. Your uniqueness is a huge part of what makes you so special, even when you can't feel it.

Best thing to do isn't to say, but to listen with a genuine and open heart-no judgment at all, no advice, just hear them. It will release some of the pressure in them. If you say anything, it might put them over the top. Best to listen warmly.

self pity is the worst thing once u stop doing that u wont feel suicidal. start being proactive rather than reactive n take charge of ur life then u will take all the failures of ur life as part of the package n wont feel so depressed .
remember its u who can help urself dont wait for someone to come n console u it is u urself who has to be that someone

yes and the thing that made me come out were my friends !
i mean they dint help me or anythgin but the thought of being without them made me change my mind !
bad times come on everyone and sometimes we receive an overdose of it and feel its unfair !
things which may seem hopeless now may show some signs of hope tommorow !
dont give up on yourself ! your friends and family will be soo hurt and they are important to you !
soo live .....if not for you live for them !
because they love you a lot
take care
all the best

look at yourself and realize that you are just as important as the next and that what ever the situation today it will get better with time and that your friends and family is just as important and that you will be missed by many. talk to a friend if not make a doctors appointment and they can lead you to the right people to talk to.
