I can easily think of some examples of DJ's try to the thinking for us. I absolutely HATE edited songs!!!!! Who Are You-The Who (they always play the edited version released as a single) Do You Feel Like I Do-Peter Frampton (they always edit out the "talkbox" part and the classic line Bob Mayo on the keyboards, Bob Mayo) Green Grass and High Tides-The Outlaws (the guitar solo) Moby Dick (live)-Led Zeppelin (editting out John "Bonzo" Bonham drum solo should be a crime) Money For Nothing-Dire Straits (the fag*ot part isn't cut, but they play the single version and not the album version) Light My Fire-The Doors (playing the single version)
