It is quite impossible to have a child and not know about it, because I am a woman! You'd think I'd have noticed!

Obviously this is about a man, cuz i cant see a woman not knowing. So a father should check out what his child's situation is before running a muck and ruining whatever that child has as a life. Take it easy and slowly introduce myself as their father and give them the choice of which that is the option to either want my affections as a parent. And above all be supportive of their decisions at that time because remember they are only 18 or so and time changes with age. They may have to let the shock grow on them a while. And in some cases visa versa, for I have known children that track down the parent and that effect is the same.
So with love and understanding and no underlying threats the bridge should be built and it goes both ways.

I'd freak out, because I'm only 20, but I'd most definitely be a dad. In fact, I wish I could just skip the whole baby thing and go right into having a teenager.
