Take the underground for a couple of pounds...! A taxi will be less than a "tenner."

A single ticket on the tube from Zone 6 (Heathrow) to Zone 1 (Euston) is £4.50. You will not have to pay anything extra for the interchange as long as you don't leave the station. You will want to catch the train that is heading towards Cockfosters, which will be simple enough because Heathrow is the end of the line. The fare zones (1-9, not 1-6) are just fare zones around london, zone 1 being the centre, zone 2 is a ring around that, zone 3 is a ring around that and so on till zone 6. Zones 7-9 are only on the Metropolitan line out towards Herts and Bucks.

Probably 15 pounds or so. Take the underground -- Circle line, westbound, from Victoria to Paddington Station. It's only 3 quid.

It's actually quite far to Paddington (north) from Victoria (south) so it would be around £15 in a black cab. I think if you can possibly do it, get the tube.

More than you expected I bet!
Assuming you are not weighed down with luggage or have another good reason, might I suggest bus routes 36 or 436 instead. They go
from Wilton Road, just outside station to Praed Street, outside Paddington. They are very frequent and the fare is £1.50.

Not as much as £20, closer to £10.

It's madness to even think about walking it if you have luggage, it's wet or you have an aversion to traffic fumes. It's about two miles walking along noisy city streets, through Hyde Park (pleasant) and then more noisy city streets.

As a cheaper alternative, take the tube (Circle line westbound) or the bus (36 or 436), though if you have luggage neither are particularly easy.

It can vary. Black cabs are always more expensive than regular cabs which don't charge for standing in traffic. There is a cab stand inside the station so I suggest you use that. My estimate would be around £10 or £12 - 15 with a black cab.
