The West allows for its culture and society to be questioned by its people. This is both a strength and a weakness.
China, Russia and Thailand have been violent against their Muslim minorities, however the world would rather blame transgressions in Western countries where it is easier to criticise.
It is odd how Islamic extremists from Algeria and Egypt who are oppressed in their secular homelands end up getting asylum in the West.

Americans know very little about Islam. There has even been a case where 6 Muslim imams were kicked out of a US Airways flight for practically no reason. When the imams refused to leave, the crew called police. Those imams were questioned by police for several hours.
Most Americans believe what they see on TV. So, its partly the media that is to blame for all the anti Muslim feelings.
I am a Muslim currently living in Thailand, and that incident simply put me off in any hopes to persue my higher studies in the US. Its very difficult being a Muslim in the US, I should think.
I doubt America's political future in the international political. arena.
Shame, I used to have great faith in the US. Now, its the opposite.

Every muslim is not a terrorist, but every terrorist is a muslim.
I guess its cuz the people made it out to be. Islam is in no way related to terrorism, just that a few 'mislead' people terrorize the world in the name of Islam.

my guess is that it is due to the impact of the israel-palasteinian war that islam terrorists huv emerged.i think tis also due to the enemity aginst G.Bush
