scyter question how does it evolve in fire red and where do i fing the item he's supposed to hold?

In fire Red you'll need to give the man mourning his Onix a lemonade (place it as an offering) he'll thank you for your generosity and give you a metal coat.

Then with your Scyther, attach the metal coat as an holding item and trade via either wireless or link cable. once traded your Scyther will evolved into Scizor, inheriting Steel as a type.

I'm not sure of any other ways to get metal coat off hand, but you might be able to find it as a hold item on a metal pokemon (rarley)

it evolves in fire and leaf the same way it evolved in gold, silver and crystal

you need to trade it with someone, while the scyther is holding an item called "metal coat" which you will find if you inspect the grave in memorial pillar on isle five. wild magnemite have a 5% chance of holding a metal coat when you capture them

remember, this is one of those evolutions that changes scyther's type, *not his overall* stats. yes, his attack goes up, and his defence gets much better. i never evolve mine, since scyther is in better use than scizor
