I think they are both equally offensive. The difference here is that one was caught on tape...the other wasn't. So Michael's words are given a chance to shock us more so then Mel's.

I still respect Gibson. I believe he is a very deep-thinking but troubled man.

I don't know what Richards said except to know he responded rudely to some rude audience members. His racial slurs indicate what is in his heart, just like when Jessie Jackson called NYC Hymie town.

Neither. I find Solomon Ortiz offensive, and
Whoopi Goldberg and Martin Lawrence and Carlos Mencias.

Hi paul, Well IMO, they both were very "outrageous", only because of this "politically correct" fricken world we live in. I'm just a woman, who on "occasion" has said some off-color/racist/hypocritical remarks...usually under the influence of "demon alcohol"...which is no excuse! However, I do believe that actors/actresses have to uphold a "somewhat" higher moral standard because of their influence and "media" exposure. XOXO Moonpie P.S. I have respect for them because I can't imagine living my life in a "fish-bowl" so to speak, and having my[family/private] life invaded. P.P.S. I just want to address those that (may or may not) say...well they chose that career, so be it!

Michael Richards. Not because he called a black person the N word, just cause he's a douchebag.
