Is nursing good for men.?

No, it's just good for babies. Just kidding. Any job is good for anyone male or female, as long as it's of your choosing.

I've been a nurse for almost 30 years. It's both the best and the worst job you can imagine. Don't get the idea it's anything like what you see on "ER," "Grey's Anatomy," or any of those other shows. There's nothing glamorous about it. The hours are usually bad (you'll work at least a year of evenings or nights after graduating nursing school), and there are smells you wouldn't believe. People die. Children die, a lot. Young people die, a lot. Patient's families will question your skills and patients will question your parentage. Other men will question your sexuality (I wish I had a $5 bill for every time I was asked if I was gay). After these men ask that question, I usually ask them if there are as many good-looking, motivated, intelligent women at their jobs that aren't ambitious, greedy or just B-words. That usually shuts them up. Meeting great women aside, it's not a bad job. The trick is to latch onto someone who trained a long time ago, and has a lot of experience and learn from him/her.
Do I think you should be a nurse? Only you can say. It's not easy, but there are still some miracles out there. You just have to look a little harder.

As long as your name is not GAYLORD FOCKER. LOL . JK . Sure I know many male nurses. And I know Hospitals where the roles seems to be reversed, like there being more male RNS and more females being MDs. It's super good for men. Gender shouldn't matter. If you are considering entering into a nursing program then GO FOR IT!
