If you are looking to become pregnant in the next year I would reccomend condoms + spermacide/foam.
If you are willing to wait longer than one year I would recomend speaking with your gyn and asking him/her about your options for perscription birth control.
If you are on the pill/patch/ring, you should wait at least 3 months after quiting the method before becoming pregnant, due to the effect that these methods have on your uterine lining (they make it decrease each month, so you need some time to build it back up).
