Difficult question. I think that love and happiness are subjective feelings. For example, a person who has been beaten down (you name it, mentally, emotionally, physically, sexually) for most of their early childhood would define and experience love and happiness very differently than someone from different circumstances. I think that love comes deep from within the body. People who spend most of their time evading physical sensations or creating situations that do not sustain emotional self-fulfillment (are usually people who get sick or are accident prone but really deny it) know happiness peripherally--although they know it on a psychological level, perhaps remembering a glimmer from their childhood. Other people can know happiness because they feel sensations within that stir them in inspiring ways, such as taking time to do something for their grandmother, or helping a elder person cross a busy street. I think that happiness is cultivated with experience, with knowledge, and with compassion. Love, when cultivated gently within the cellular form, makes way for amazing results on the outside. And this experiential awareness (feeling it in the body ) is what gives way to happiness.

Love is joy but not a short lived joy like you described but one that is with you constantly. You can feel sadness when love and you can still feel joy when feel sad because with true love all emotions are felt ,but not just in you but for others too therefore even when sad for yourself you can feel joy for others, and vice versa through love

Love leads to Happiness but if you truly are in Love with someone else, you will not want anything else in Life except that person and you will want to share every moment of your life with them. Now if your willing to do this with that person, then you must be happy and if you can't then your not in love.

I believe when you love anyone whether it's a mate or a family member, this person makes you happy, right or else you wouldn't want to be around this person. Love gives you motivation and lifts you up. Love urges you to do more for yourself (you and your mate are one) because whatever makes you happy makes her happy.

because... even as your in love you're chuffed... yet in various of circumstances purely at the starting up... so i do not agree that love may reason lengthy-lasting happiness. everyone needs to experience loved and when we do it makes us chuffed. Love isn't something better than interest.
