If Spiderman didn't have cyoptonite what else could he do?
Superman can take a bullet to the eye!! Spiderman could just shoot him with some web then Superman would just casualy walk over to him and break Spiderman in half. There that is the battle.

Pointless battle.

Superman has to many powers. Flying, Invunrablity, Laser Eyes, X-ray vision ect ect.

What does spiderman have on that. NOTHING. I am more of a fan of Spiderman, but come on putting him against a god is just unfair.

Love the "article". I found it inspirational. Nice post. As for who would win, Wizard posted this battle in a previous issue. I'm assuming they would have had to have permission to use the different characters without infringing on copyright laws. If so, this would be an official rating of the matchup. That said, Superman held his own against Goku... in his base form. As soon as he went Super Saiyan, Goku used Superman to make a new crater on the moon before realizing he wasn't a bad guy, apologizing, & leaving. Notice, I only said SS Goku, too. This was the same Goku that thrashed Frieza! Needless to say, that means Frieza could possibly beat Superman, or at least match him in terms of power. Now, for Superman fans, don't fret, because they used the current version of Superman. Why does that matter? Because in the '80s, they downgraded Superman's powers so he could be more believable. However, the original Superman, now called the Earth 2 Superman, was immensely powerful, & far superior to the remade version. That said, this Superman might defeat SS Goku. He might have trouble with SS2 Goku, & could probably be beaten without contest by SS3 or higher, but since the question only mentions SS Goku, I would say Earth 2 Superman could emerge victorious from that battle.

Superman would win of course because he is basically invincible. I never thought that Spider Man's web shooters were 100% per cent reliable. I think the spinnerets would gum up and jam, plus where does he get all the protein to spin those webs? I think that Spider Man may be just a figment of some one's imagination; where Super Man, on the other hand is real.

That depends on which superman were talking about here. If we're talking about the Superman as he was originally created a half-century ago, then Spiderman would win. With all the power upgrades given to Superman over the years that make him nearly invincible though, spiderman wouldn't stand a chance, unless he had the opportunity to exploit one of his very few weaknesses by gaining some kryptonite or cutting off his exposure to the sun.

Considering Peter Parker's background in science, it would be at least somewhat plausible for him to gain access to kryptonite though.

Well, the Justice League considers Superman to be one of the main honchos (basically, without him and one or two others, the rest are doomed), I'd say it was no contest.

Superman, hands down.

If you wanted a more fair match, try Spiderman and say, Wolverine, or something. That will leave most people debating all day.

With the exception of kryptonite, there's nothing that Spider-Man could do to even hurt Superman. I don't care how much webbing Spidey uses, Supes keeps coming and eventually it's lights out for Peter Parker.
