It may vary by country, or by event.
In the UK The Festival of Britain in 1951 was supposed to be one marker of a new era, and the end of the old one. But some food rationing did not end until 1954!
And by that time there had been the first United Nations war, in Korea. By that time the cold war period was becoming well established. Definitely a different era.
so, 1945-50? -51 -54 in some ways, but not in America, which recovered faster from WW2

The period 1945-1957 is the appropriate period.
This covers the period where two different Presidents presided over the political, economic, and social rebuilding of Europe. The policies and programs put in place to aid Americans and Europeans (Marshall Plan) needed this much time to prove their worth and effectiveness. It is only over this length of time that you can see the start, climax, and retirement of various programs and there by judge their success or failure.

It ended in 1945, so I would assume through 1949, then it's the fifties.
