You should be able to get pregnant without too many problems. PCOS is caused by insulin resistance. If you treat that, then your chances of getting pg are about the same as anyone else. The best treatment for PCOS is a low carb diet, exercise, and adding an insulin sensitizing drug such as metformin (1500-2550mg per day). It is also important to know that many women "pass" the test for insulin resistance but still respond positively to the metformin treatment. Also, it is important to know that you should be treating your PCOS even if you are not yet ttc. Check out http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-bhpcos to ask all your PCOS questions. It's a great source of information and general support. The women there are great. Good luck.

I too have PCOS...and YES I did get pregnant however, I did have to take metformin and clomid. I have 2 beautiful children now and had to have metformin and clomid with both. With my first child it took me only 2 cycles (2 months) but with my second it took almost a whole year. We had actually come to the conclusion that we were only going to have one and then wouldn't you know it.... finally got pregnant. The metformin had some side effects...some good, some bad. I lost nearly 30lbs in 4 months without even trying, that was good. However, you may find that you will get to know all the restrooms around as your gastrointestinal tract is very active! Keep trying and I do believe that when I relaxed about the whole thing that seemed to be when it happened. Stressing about it can hinder your chances.
My specialist told me that there is absolutely no reason that a PCOS woman should not be able to get pregnant...you just need to find the right combination and dosage of medications to help you ovulate more regularly. I wish you all the luck in the world and hope your dream comes true! Don't give up!!

putting aside the difficulty of requiring sperm to have slightly one, because of the fact i anticipate you have addressed that difficulty already...your hazard of concieving with PCOS are low. between the failings that occurs as quickly as we've PCOS is that we don't ovulate many situations-now and returned in any comprehend. that's obtainable, regardless of the fact that that's no longer from now on something that i might bear in mind on, with PCOS. you're ovulating hardly, and charting your cycles might help make certain no count number in case you're. finding out no count number in case you ovulate on your very own is step one in figuring out how likely it will be to concieve on your very own-without ovulation, that's imposible to get pregant. regardless of the fact that, untreated, PCOS might reason all varieties of option nicely-being issues, like diabetes, severe ldl cholesterol, endometrial hyperplasia (that could located you at greater useful threat for endometrial optimal cancers) and others. interior the adventure that your nicely-being practitioner isn't taking your PCOS heavily no count number in case you're attempting to have slightly one, then probable a different nicely-being practitioner may be a sturdy decision.
