It doesn't appear to boot up. When you turn it on, it sounds like it should start up (the fans come on). However, the light on the monitor won't turn green. It either stays yellow or flashes yellow. I have tried 2 different monitors and on flashes yellow and the other is steady yellow. What is wrong with this thing and how do I fix it? Thanks!!

**Added....yes, I have checked all the connections. I have tried a different monitor on it. I don't have all these extra parts lying around nor would I even know what to look for instide the machine. Not my comfort zone. Where is the reset button on the monitor? What can I try without tearing it up further?

HOLD ON GUYS!!!
before you start ripping your computer apart, and running out to buy a new video card try the simple things first.
a) are all cables connected correctly and securely.
b) are all power cables connected. etc.
c) did you try the reset button
d) try a different monitor on your computer, and see if your monitor will work on another computer.
if none of those things work and you are comfortable opening up your computer, then do so and check the connections.

First of all it's not the monitor. The reason the light stay yellow is because it not getting a message from the computer. Have you changed monitors recently, before you had this problem. go to properties and click on system device. Check and see if you have the right driver for display(Monitor).
Does the computer boot up? Does the light in front stay on or does it flash too? If the computer doesn't boot up, then that's the problem.
I had the same problem with mine and it was the power supply. It could also be the hard drive has crashed. I've had both problems. The fan you hear is the fan on the processor.

Im not being a jerk, but have you checked that the video cable is firmly connected to the back of your computer. That is the only thing I can think of. Also (still not being a jerk) make sure your monitor's power cord is plugged into both the wall and the monitor.

99% of the time the answer to this question is that your video card has gone out on you. If you know how to open the computer it is very easy to change. Just look for where the montior plugs into the back of the computer and that is the card when you open it up on most computers its just two screws and it pops right out it is about the size of your hand in most cases just gotta run out and spend a few hundred dollars on a new one YAY!!! Good luck.

3. RUB The RAM's golden pins with eraser softly for 30 secs
4. put them back in PC
5. BOOT UP It will work

your computer is not passing the post (power on self test) it is stopping because a piece of hardware (motherboard, cpu, fan, ram, hard drive, graphics card, keyboard, mouse) are either faulty or not connecting correctly.
You need to openit up and try and work out which bit is playing up
