I hate George W. Bush. I have long considered him to probably be the dumbest person ever elected President of the U.S.
On 9/11 I said that Bush would lead us to war because he wanted to act the hero and take attention away from his inept political bungling to that point.
And I like to blame politicians for all of their stupid meddling.
But, even Bush and his cronies know that the government could provide free gas to the public for less than the cost of invading and policing Iraq. Political legacy - priceless, oil - $70/barrel.
So, I'm afraid there's no truth to the notion of invading for oil, but I still like to say it when I complain of gas prices.

they took the oil. but funnily enough oil prices have skyrocketed. so america hasnt achieved any more security, just more haters nor alliviated the oil crisis which wouldnt actually be a crisis if america didnt stick there head in something which they still havnt stopped till today. as far as im concerned they have killed more people then saved and they have just created a greater sense of hatred in the middle east, except for of course israel which is loaded with so many weapons of mass destruction (proof: the amount of damage they did to lebanon in such a short time period) which they turn a blind eye to but choose to pick on a country which they still havnt any evidence that they had weapons of mass destruction.

If we took oil from Iraq are gas prices would be lower. Not hitting all time highs. Get a clue. Do research don't go on just here say!

Well they haven't taken any oil.
Iraq does't export any more than when saddam was in power.
Thats stuff we buy we do't need to take it.
