prices are dropping because ebay is being saturated with the systems. but as more people buy them online, supply will drop, prices will swing back up for xmas. if you're thinking of a purchase, use patience and wait for retail price.

Whoever pays even $1 above suggested retail for a PS3 is a blithering idiot. Anybody who actually paid $3g's for a PS3 is a stupendous moron.

In a year you will see them on ebay used going for $100-$200. In two years - $50 bucks.

sony claims they will be air lifting a "steady stream" of ps3s to the US. this may keep the price low, but i think there "steady stream" is more like 1 maybe two shipments before christmas with probably around 4 per shipment per store.
