Iraq is filled with freedom, so much freedom in fact that they have the choice of what type of who they want to give their allegience to. No monopoly of force causing government ineffiency like in the US.

No, if you don't like the Shi'ite faction, join the Sunnis. If you don't like the Sunni's, join Al-Quedi, the Iranians or the Kurds, or join the sanctioned government and have fun avoiding death and collecting bribes. Yes, the ability to choose the faction you want to die for certainly makes the Iraq a bastion of freedom in the Middle East....

Or you can just call it a civil war if you want, if you really want to be a downer that wants the terrorists to win by having a cut-and-run mentality. :)

What it is is a mess. The Iraqi government has the legal authority to impose its will, but because of weakness and corruption it does not have the ability to do so. The squabbles between the Sunnis and the Shiites, which have been going on more than a thousand years, are not helping. The problem may be solved if Iraqis can develop more allegiance to the state and less to their tribal leaders and their religious beliefs, and considering that the religion is Islam, that is going to be very difficult.

I doubt whether pro Bush people actually understands what democracy really is.

They seriously think its ok to spread democracy with a bomb. Bush has proved himself to be mor lunatical than Saddam. I wonder who is going to try who for all those Iraqi people killed. Saddam was tried for killing 140.
