on country music? I would say Patsy Cline. Nearly everyone cites her as an influence and she's well known and loved by a lot of people, not just those who like country music. listening to her music and comparing it to someone like faith hill or Carrie Underwood, there is no denying that the talent is quite matched.
not a big country music fan myself... I prefer rock or blues... but Patsy is still cool in my book =)
