yes, I've done that many times.
I like to deal with honest people, and to get to know how trustworthy or honest a person can really be I'll sometimes pretend I'm not as bright about something then wait and see what kind of a response I'll get. Will I get screwed over at the mechanic shop for instance? or I'll pretend I don't know something in order to find out a persons true feelings about something that happened. It's just a way for me to keep a bit of a control of what's going around my life and not just get carried away by the flow, or by somebody's good image at that.

On occasion.....I just had an occasion of that sort. My brother is a mechanic.......he not more than 6 months ago changed my brake pads and shoes. I just went to get tires about a week ago.....they told me that I needed both and new rotors......Bah
HAh...I messed with them until the guy finally said man you're intimidating you make me nervous.....

It's not a conscious act most of the times. But yeah. Mostly to find out what the other person is up to.

Not really. I will keep quiet and they usually assume I am stupid even though I'm not. I'm not trying to make them think I'm stupid, I just want to know how smart they are first.
