i would say that the city lights are reflecting off the clouds.
ever look outside and see red sky coming from a city direction?
Thats my guess I'm not positive

the atmospehere is less dense letting minimal amounts of plasma which glow pink in the atmosphereic contitions in the air. its not too good for your skin. stay in before you get skin cancer. just kidding. but serisiuoly. you can get skin cancer under certian amounts of exposure to raidiated plasmic waves

Because it is cloudy,and the lights from the airport
reflect from the clouds.
