Take your earrings out. You are probably due to throw them away if they are the ones you got your ears pierced with.

Next use some rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide to clean the ear surfaces. Then, use some antibiotic ointment like bacitracin. What you can do is put some on the earring post and put the earring in, it will get the ointment in the hole then. Also put the ointment on the front and back of the lobe. You should continue to wear studs while your ears heal, but go buy some new ones tomorrow. If nothing improves in a week then go to a doctor for further help.

You probably have a pocket of infection in the ear. When I have a problem with my pierced ears (which have been pierced for about 33 years now), I remove whatever earrings I'm wearing, and find my original piercing studs (good to have a spare set of these around just in case). I clean the ear thoroughly, and cleanse it with alcohol. I dip the part of the stud that goes into the ear in Neosporin or a similar antibiotic ointment (DON'T use the cream form). Then I put the stud through the hole (which can be painful), and allow it to stay there until the ear heals. This may take several days to a couple of weeks or more, depending on how bad the problem is. While the studs are in there, be sure to clean the ear with alcohol daily, and turn the studs just as you did (or should have done...) when the ears were first pierced.

I think the lump is dried up pus. When it happens to me I fill a shot glass with warm water and stick my ear lobe in it. Then you can squeeze the stuff out. It happens sometimes even if I don't wear earrings.

Are you sure it's not just the scar tissue your body creates when it tries to hear the "wound". When the piercing occurred your body recognized that as something it had to heal. I know that the holes in my ears have a hard density surrounding them, not large but noticeable to the touch. So maybe that's all it is.

that means that it is healed and you can take it out for a while and still have a hole..unless its more of a bump around the hole that is a keloid..the best thing to do is to soak your ear in a cap of warm salty water. every day clean it with a q-tip of warm salty water..should heal up in about a week or so. make sure u have real gold or silver earrings

i got the same thing a couple times actually! dont worry!!! take the ear antiseptic that they give you, and put it on 3 or more times a day. dont put another earring in untill the lump has gone down. if it continues to not go down, consult your doctor. mine only took like 2 weeks to go away. hopefully everything turns out ok! good luck!

I got that too when I first got my ears pierced, Mine just went away eventually. It is just scar tissue, which should go down over time. It isnt an infection, unless it is very, very painful and pus (oh my god, I just tried to write pus(ee) like runny, or smelly or filmy and it came out like.......... hahahahahaha. you get the idea, never tried to write that word before. How do you write that? funny anyway. Don't worry
