I am wondering if anyone knows the difference in positions, and qualifications. I understand you don’t need to be a college grad to get hired, but do you need prior experience. Target has team members, specialists, and team leaders. I went to the website but they give a general overview. I am a high school grad currently first year of college, without any work experience. . Please help. I am thinking the specialists? Also I am in MA what expected pay should I put on the application, I know minimum wage is $6.75 Thanks

You say you don't have work experience but don't worry, it's ok! Target is a great place to start! If you show you are willing to work hard, be responsible, and take your job seriously, it is very easy to move up.
My first job was at Target (many years ago) and now I am a Store Manager of a major Department Store. I worked my way up in Target's chain of command from the stock team, to sales floor, to specialist, to team leader, to area manager. They trained me and I really learned a lot about the retail business. They are also very flexible as I was able to continue going to college as I worked there! As far as pay, because you have no experience you might have to start at the bottom, but again, if you show you're willing, you can move up in no time! I received my first promotion (along with a $1.50 raise) after only 8 months! Target also has great benefits for their team members at ALL levels. I didn't choose to continue my career with Target, but I will never deny that it was a GREAT place to begin it.

Most discount store employees don't need prior experience to get hired, but it is considered a factor in who gets the job, just like any other job. If you are considering applying for a job at Target, and there's a line asking what position you are applying for, just put "entry-level position" and the store will figure it out for you - I think it would be fairly safe to say since you have no work experience, you probably won't make much more than minimum wage - however, my own personal experience in applying for jobs has taught me to write the word "Negotiable" on that line - that tells them you are willing to consider any offer they have in mind - also, they might have offered you a higher wage than what you write down, so you might be selling yourself short by putting a figure in that space.
