I got a email tonight with no forward adress, and no text attached. I have never got anything like this before so it mystifies me. I do not like mysteries I cannot solve. I do not know how one could send a email without putting a address in. I just want to know if their is any way to track it, or if anyone else has ever got a similar email.

Please proceed as:

Click Options (Mail Options beside Upgrades (Right Top Corner)): ==> General Preferences ==> Messages Headers ==>
Then check 'Show all headers on incoming messages"
==> Then Press 'Save' button to save your changes.

If you wana turn that OFF then proceed same way and check
=>'Show brief headers on incoming messages (recommended)'

Good Luck

You can't find out who send it, but you can still get a lot of information to track the sender, this is what you can do:

i) Find the option to display 'Full Headers'; if you use Yahoo! Mail, the option is found on the bottom right hand corner.

ii) When the 'Full Header' is displayed, you will be able to see where the mail originated from (the IP address); you will be able to track the source organization from where the mail originated from the 'Reverse DNS' which is also displayed in the 'Full Header' if the source organization is a legitimate organization.

Finally, the 'Full Header' will also display the source mail server and the relay mail server which the E-mail used to get to your mail box.

I hope this information helps.

Cheers!

I have gotten the same kinda thing as well its not to uncommon these days. There are programs like fake mail and what not that can send out mass e-mails without a user or text in fact you can even enter in fake information about the sender an example can be seen on the site in my source list.

Check the smpt heading on the email and it will give you a trail of the servers it went through to get to you. You can back track the trail and find out. A good site to use for your lookup info is:

www.dnsstuff.com The whois lookup field by the other fields can be useful also.

Set your options to full headers and it will list the IP address, and you can get some soft ware that tracks e-mail addresses and input the IP address into it and it will tell what location it came from, and some can tell you who the computer is registered to. Look up info on e-mail address trackers
