Try logging in Safe Mode and logging in as Administrator. Then change/remove your password from there. If all else fails, use your Windows Restore CD. If that fails, you can always shut down the machine, open up the case, and find the small battery that is on the motherboard. Remove the battery for a few minutes and it will erase all passwords saved on the system.

Note, if you are trying to access someone elses computer, or a stolen computer. Dont. If its stolen, return it.

A great LINUX system image used to reset passwords on
Windows XP, 2000 or 2003 systems.

Get the following LINUX austrami ISO image:

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/austrumi/austrumi-0.9.9.iso?download

Burn this ISO using your CD burner software like Nero or NTI

(obviously, if you do not have any other accounts defined on your system, then you will need another computer to do the above steps.)

Boot the resulting cd and select the nt_password function.
Follow the prompts to reset the password for most any XP or Windows 2000/2003 system. Best results are to clear the password (use '*') and reset the failed attempt lockout flags on the accounts.

Then boot your system normally, you will not be required to enter a password to get into your reset account.

This is a great solution if your administrator account has a password that you also do not know. Additionally, since you are regaining access to the same account, you do not need to take ownership of your files or lose files that you have encrypted.

Yes you can do it normally if you didn't make your account secured and privet from this target:

C:/Documents and Settings/**your account name**/

*This If your OS is win 2000, XP, Vista or 2003 and It is on C:/

If your account was secure then you can remove your password through this Account: "Administrator"

Log on as an administrator then go to cotrol panel and remove the password using "users and Password" or "accounts"

If you are talking about your the administrator account.

then there is only one way: through other programms which work from Dos I have 5 or 6 program put the most usefull one is "ERD" chick for it and use it

I don't think there will be any other ways.

Good luck and sorry if this couldn't help you

Boot to safemode (F8 while windows start) and log in as the administrator...

if successful in logging in to safemode, remove the password from the control panel...

if not the a password reset disk is needed to reset your password...

if you dont have password recovery disk then reinstall windows

...and oppose to what beatboxryan said, removing the battery on the motherboard will not reset your WINDOWS password but instead it will reset your MACHINE password...

Use yet another account with administration rights to retrieve the lost password. go surfing to the device with the lively account, then click on the "start up" menu and bypass to "administration Panel." in the classic View, there will be an icon for person debts. as quickly as in person debts, decide on the account with the lost password in the backside of the window, and then click on "reset password." The instantaneous will ask for the password in 2 fields to be certain it particularly is typed exact. Reboot the workstation into risk-free Mode, then use the Administrator account to reset the password. To get entry to the Boot Menu, press F8 over and over jointly as the workstation posts the boot information, until eventually now the homestead windows splash reveal seems. If the splash reveal seems then it particularly is merely too late to get entry to the Boot Menu, and the approach could be repeated. as quickly as in the menu, decide on "risk-free Mode" from the record by pressing it particularly is corresponding variety. the workstation will then reveal the conventional person debts, with an added "Administrator" account on the authentic. by default, this account won't have a password, and could enable the person to flow into homestead windows to recuperate the password of the forgotten account utilising previous step. Reinstall MS homestead windows XP from the unique setting up disc, and supply the Administrator account a clean password whilst brought about. Reboot the workstation with the CD in the rigidity, and then decide on "boot from CD" whilst brought about. because of the fact the device plenty the installer, it particularly is going to stumble on the previous setting up and ask to overwrite it or restore it. decide on "restore," and carry on with the activates. it particularly is going to ask for a clean Administrator password, and this new password will enable the different person debts to be changed besides.

If it is user account. Enter as administrator and change the password for that user account.

If you forget the administrator password, the following link will help you to get rid of this problem.

This site has a procedure that is easy to do. You will have to change the password as part of the procedure. But, since you don't know the old one, this shouldn't be a problem.

I think in this case you're locked out. There is now way to get into your account now. If it is a workplace/school account, then explain your situation to the admin... he will be in aposition to help you out. Other than this there is no other go.
